Global face mask market to hit US$10.5 billion

There’s a widespread belief that the huge increase in face mask sales is solely due to Millennials and Gen Zers.

This is only true up to a point reveals a new report from Persistence Market Research.

The US third-platform research firm predicts that global sales of face masks will reach US$10.5 billion by 2026, propelled by several major factors.

The APAC region will continue to dominate worldwide revenues, accounting for 80 per cent of the market.

Peel-off masks are predicted to continue their sector-leading ranking, followed by cream and clay masks.

There will also be a surge in the sales of sheet and oil-based masks over the forecast period.

The major trends fuelling growth are anti-ageing benefits and the use of natural ingredients such as honey, aloe vera and botanical extracts.

Going forward, the development of products that target sagging skin, dryness, blemishes, wrinkles and enlarged pores will further expand the face mask category.
